  12. Hello people, the solar panels aren’t there to look good, they are there to save you money. If you have them and want your home to still look good, and think you want to put them in another spot, you need to make sure it is where they can obtain the most energy for the job they are required to do. You people are superficial. Its not how they look, its what they do for you.

  16. You may find solar panels appealing, but finding solar panels appealing as a patch of glass on your roof that is colored brown is something else. Not only that, it is colored in blue where-areas most houses are different colored. Not only that it is not built flat with the roof when the house was built.

  18. @heartlessvietboy I hope you realize the benefits of solar energy vastly outweigh the negatives in the aesthetics… If we utilized more solar energy, gasoline wouldn’t be floating around $3/gal. But, then again, our gov’t and big oil like to keep it that way.

Anyway… I find solar panels to be visually appealing. So, we disagree… Just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean that everyone has to adhere to your preferences.

  20. A flat roof is alright. Aerial view, if all houses incorporate solar panels, it may not look bad.

  22. @heartlessvietboy Well, considering that the grade of my roof is damn near flat, I don’t think anyone will mind. Not to mention that it’s pretty much optimal for PV action

  24. Do not buy solar panels just yet until they look good. There are many ways to make them. If you do buy solar panels now, tell your installer to put them where it looks proportionate from all view points. Away from community view. There are companies out there that have built new solar panels that look nice.

  26. @heartlessvietboy If you’re an idiot, solar panels are an eye sore… I live in Detroit so I don’t want to hear your superficial complaints… Go drink your mocha latte and drive your benz to Detroit to see what a real eye sore is.

  44. Solar Panels are an eye sore to the community. They are placed on our roof tops poorly designed. GOOGLE up “GOOGLE Solar Panels” and then click “images”. Google placed well designed solar panels over one of their facilities in California. It is well designed, the lines are smaller and smoother.
