]]> Modern Solar powered water heaters for the home are a lot more efficient in comparison to the early models built back in 1970’s and 1980’s. What this means is they can produce more electricity for less cost. Solar heating water for a home which is located in a moderate climate will now cost in the region of $1000 to $5000 with about a $50 annual maintenance cost. Bear in mind that maintenance costs for conventional gas and electric heaters are approximately $500 a year.

This means that after the payback period, you get an annual supply of hot water for about 50 bucks – sounds good to me.
